Ideal Protein: Not losing weight

Dieters,
Having a Stall in Your Weight Loss?

Diet sodas are discouraged during the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method, as many overweight people are “addicted” to sweets. If that is not curbed during Phase 1, the addiction may carry over into the Maintenance Phase and contribute to later indulgences and a tendency to YoYo diet. Dieters, who before dieting used to drink a lot of soda, should try to limit intake of sugar-free/carb-free drinks to two per day. Drinking water flavored with Flavored Stevia drops (i.e. Watermelon, Lemon, Root Beer, Cherry, + 20 more) can reduce the craving for sweets and one day, the dieter may be able to completely stop consumption of carbonated beverages.

Crystal Light is a better choice than diet soda, but not as good a choice as Flavored Stevia or green tea beverages. Keep in mind that even diet drinks contain preservatives, flavorings and other questionable artificial ingredients.

There are several other reasons why you may "stall" in your weight loss. Chewing gum fits in this category. It is legal to put 0 carbs even if the gum contains .9 carbs, so 20 sticks of gum can really rack up the carbs. Many gums contain sugars, carbs, or sugar alcohols that can kick you out of ketosis. Using Splenda more than twice a day, may also slow weight loss. So, if your weight loss has decreased, you feel crummy, and yet you have been following the Ideal Protein Weight Loss plan your coach and you agreed on, maybe it is time to look at what "extras" you are having that are not part of the program.

The emotional aspect of losing weight is also a big factor. Feelings of hopelessness from perceived “past failures” may make it difficult for you to remain committed to your plan. The coaches at Revitalize! are dedicated to coaching you through any low points or struggles you may be experiencing, so be sure to share these with your Coach. You’ll be glad you did! Feel free to comment on what you have done to get past your weight loss stall, how you dealt with emotional barriers, or if you are having any of these problems. I look forward to your comments!
